The Houthi-led government’s Prime Minister Abdel-Aziz bin Habtour cast his vote in the parliamentary elections as they kicked off in Sanaa on Saturday.
Voters flocked to polling stations in 24 districts across the country, which have remained without a representative in parliament. A total of 453 polling stations were opened in Sanaa alone.
Meanwhile, Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi returned to the country from Saudi Arabia, to participate in a meeting of the Yemeni members of parliament, who endorse him. At the meeting in Sayoun, the parliamentarians elected the leader of the General People's Congress Party Sultan al-Barqani as speaker of parliament.
