An alleged Houthi drone attack on a Yemeni government military base in the southern Lahj province reportedly killed at least five soldiers on Thursday.
Allegedly launched by Houthi forces, the drone reportedly exploded over a military parade at the al-Anad military base. Some top Yemeni army officers were reportedly injured.
The attack comes three days after UN Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths discused the implementation of the Hodeidah ceasefire agreement with Houthi officials in Sanaa.
The Hodeidah ceasefire agreement was struck in Sweden late December 2018 and saw warring Houthi forces and Saudi-backed coalition forces reach a settlement regarding the Red Sea port.
