Xi Calls for Making Major Cities "Smarter"

Chinese President Xi Jinping said major cities can become "smarter" by using big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies to modernize city governance.

Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks while visiting the City Brain, a smart city platform aiming to improve city management, in Hangzhou of east China's Zhejiang Province on Tuesday.

Hangzhou's City Brain project was launched in 2016 to help the city make plans in areas including public security, transportation and health care with the use of big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, among other cutting-edge technologies. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20200401/8139244.shtml#!language=1
