CGTN's Mark Niu rides along with Phantom Auto in Silicon Valley in a car driven by someone miles away using screens and a steering wheel that looks almost like a video game console. This new type of "driverless" car uses tele-operation technology and is run on a cellular network with advanced backup networks. The aim is to serve as a backup for self-driving cars in the instances where they wouldn't work so well and people want a human "behind" the wheel. Stay tuned to CGTN America for an upcoming report on this new technology.
