According to Business Insider, a new CDC report finds that the U.S. birthrate is the lowest it's been in over 3 decades.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report found that the decline happened for nearly all racial and age groups.
Business Insider points to a number of reasons why this may occurring. Their reasons include:
1 . Cost: Studies say that millennials are not having kids for financial reasons.
Business Insider adds "More thirtysomethings than twentysomethings are having kids for the first time ever."
2. Uncertainty about America's future: Some experts believe that job security, political climate, and negative views on America's future are contributing to the decline.
3. Some parents also believe that high insurance costs, the search for childcare, and lack of parental leave, also provide challenges when it comes to having kids.
A Merrill Lynch report suggests that the cost to raise a child to age 18 in America is an an average of $230,000.
