WATCH: Senate Judiciary Committee will investigate how the Russia probe got started, Graham promises
Senate Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham promised Wednesday to investigate what led to the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the potential connections between Russia and the Trump campaign.
“This committee is going to look long and hard at how this all started,” Graham said. But he also expressed concerns about the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump campaign.
Graham took aim at FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who were working on the Russia probe. The FBI officials have come under criticism for expressing their opposition to President Donald Trump in text messages.
Graham also said there is still “a lot of work to be done to defend democracy” against Russia interference in upcoming elections.
