Rep. Adam Schiff, questioned Kurt Volker, the former U.S. special envoy to Ukraine, about his earlier testimony that the Ukrainians were not aware that U.S. aid was being withheld. Schiff pointed out that Ukrainians would have become aware of the delay in the aid after news reports in August. Volker testified on Nov. 19 as part of the impeachment probe into Trump. The inquiry centers on a July 25 call in which Trump asked Ukraine’s president to investigate his potential political rival Joe Biden. House lawmakers are investigating whether the request was tied to the release of U.S. aid to Ukraine.
