John P. Abizaid and Matthew H. Tueller, nominees for the ambassadors to Saudi Arabia and Iraq, respectively, will face tough questions on President Donald Trump's foreign policy Wednesday during their confirmation hearings before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
A key area of focus for Abizaid will be Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist who was killed last year by agents of the Saudi government. Some lawmakers have been dissatisfied with how President Donald Trump has handled his relationship with Saudi Arabia since.
