During the Senate impeachment trial on Jan. 21, House manager Rep. Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas, argued for the amendment to subpoena additional documents from White House aide Robert Blair and Office of Management and Budget official Michael Duffey because, she said, they were “directly involved” in carrying out Trump’s order to freeze aid to Ukraine. The House of Representatives impeached the president in December on two articles -- abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The trial will determine whether Trump is convicted of those charges and will be removed from office, or acquitted.
