The Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC held a birthday party with a fruit-flavoured ice cake for Bei Bei, one of their giant pandas, on Thursday.
Footage shows visitors watching and taking photos as the birthday boy takes apart his ice cake in the shape of a giant number four.
"Bei Bei is currently enjoying his ice cake, which is a normal thing that we do here to celebrate all of our giant pandas' birthdays, as well as special events," said Shellie Pick an animal keeper at the Smithsonian National Zoo. "Today he got an ice cake made up of different frozen fruit, frozen apple juice, with a big number four on it to really celebrate his birthday here."
Bei Bei is on loan from his homeland of China, and will be travelling back home in the coming months in accordance with the zoo’s breeding agreement.
