Business Insider reports that Volkswagen has announced plans to feature its new concept design pickup truck, the "Tarok" at the 2019 New York International Autoshow. Showcasing the Tarok is designed to allow VW to gauge US consumer interest in an entry-level compact pickup truck. The compact pickup market is currently non-existent for the US. All available trucks for sale in the US are considered midsize or larger. The compact pickup concept that will be on display in New York is built on VW's MQB platform that also underpins the Tiguan and Atlas SUVs along with the Passat and Jetta sedans.
