On Wednesday, Venezuelan military and police blocked hundreds of students who tried to cross a border bridge to go to their schools in Colombia. The troops threw tear gas and fired rubber pellets at the students, but no one was injured, deputies said.

Uniformed schoolgirls and their parents struggled with police and national guard members stationed with shields at the binational Francisco de Paula Santander pass, in the town of Ureña, according to a video released by deputy Franklin Duarte on his Twitter account. (AFP)
