Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro met with representatives of Norway's Foreign Ministry, in Caracas on Monday, in the wake of an upcoming first-ever meeting between government and opposition representatives in Oslo next week.

Footage from the meeting, which was published on Maduro's Twitter account, shows the president seated at a table with six officials.

Officials from both sides have not yet announced who would represent them in the Norwegian capital next week.

Venezuela has been in political crisis since January 23, when Guaido declared himself interim-president in a move now recognized by over 50 countries and other international bodies, including the United States, the European Union.
