Take a glimpse into the more radical side of the protests that have been taking place in Hong Kong since the end of March. Footage from Sunday shows black-clad protesters preparing for confrontations with police.
Protesters were seen smashing windows and dismantling sidewalks to collect rocks and setting up barricades by the entrance to an MTR station entrance.
"Using force is one of our methods, one of our methods to protect ourselves and to protest, since the fire is our war," said one of masked protesters.
He added that: "Violence is like police. They beat everyone although they are just peaceful or just some citizen in Hong Kong, but they will fight. But protesters are not using violence. They just use force to protect themselves and protect those peaceful protesters."
Footage also shows protesters throw projectiles at police and officers respond with tear gas.
