Six migrants were killed and five critically injured after a vehicle crashed into a ditch near Corpus Christi in Texas on Wednesday, as US authorities confirmed. The SUV was fleeing police pursuit which was abandoned due to rain and wet roads. "The vehicle going down the dirt road didn't know that there's drainage ditch, drove into the drainage ditch at about 40-50 miles an hour - where everything happened. Right now, we have six fatalities. Five people have been critically injured and three other injuries, 14 people total," said Captain Daniel Lorberau, Nueces County sheriff. "All in one vehicle. Everybody is from El Salvador", added the sheriff. More details are expected to appear when police question the crash survivors who were taken to hospital.
