Acting US ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor Jr and Deputy assistant secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs George Kent testified before the House Intelligence Committee in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

Taylor and Kent both detailed the pressure mounted on Ukraine by US President Donald Trump to open an investigation into Democrat Joe Biden and Biden's son Hunter in return for aid and militray assistance.

The president is alleged to have asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to find damaging information on the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, during the call.
