JetBlue planes were seen flying over New York City, to salute healthcare workers and first responders fighting against the coronavirus spread, Thursday.

The planes, reportedly Airbus A320 and 321, conducted a low flyover being just 2000 feet (around 600 metres) above the ground.

"It was awesome, you don't get to see this all the time except when it's a special day, that's it, you know...I was just glad to be here just to see that, really," said one of the spectators, Karen Baker.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the US has registered 1,257,023 cases of the coronavirus with 75,662 deaths related to the disease and 26,144 of them registered in the State of New York.
