Super middleweight champion Jose Uzcategui and the undefeated US professional boxer Caleb Plant spoke to the media in Los Angeles on Friday, on the eve of their much-hyped title bout.
Home favourite Plant, a native of Tennessee, will be looking to claim his first world title when he faces his Venezuelan opponent at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday.
He face stiff opposition from IBF world champion Uzcategui, with a 28-2 record with 23 knockouts. Now residing in Tijuana, Mexico, Uzcategui thanked God for the opportunity to fight and promised to show why he is "the most-feared guy in the division."
Plant, who remains undefeated in 17 fights, predicted victory on January 13. "If he thinks I am going to be an easy task he is got another thing coming," he warned. Plant will also be fighting in memory of his daughter, Alia, who died 2015 at 19 months because of a rare medical condition which caused multiple seizures per day.
