Neutral conditions are likely through the Northern Hemisphere this summer.
"Neutral" means extreme weather patterns known as El Niño or La Niña are less probable.
According to Reuters, the National Weather Service made the prediction Thursday.
An El Niño pattern is associated with warmer and wetter weather than usual.
The NWS's Climate Prediction Center says the chance of an El Niño pattern increases as the year goes on.
Specifically, it will rise to 50% during the fall and 65% during the winter of 2018-19.
