U.S. senators have urged the Food and Drug Administration to immediately remove all e-cigarettes from the market.
The bipartisan group has called for the ban until it can be proven the products are safe.
In a letter to Acting FDA Commissioner, senators cited recent reports of 530 cases of vaping-related lung disease.
Earlier this week, New York became the first state to ban the sale of e-flavored cigarettes.
According to Reuters, the mysterious health crisis has resulted in eight deaths so far.
