U.S. embassies all around the world showed off a rainbow flag in honor of LGBTQ celebrations. According to Business Insider, the tradition to do so began during Barack Obama’s presidency. Before pride month, the U.S. State Department rejected and advised the embassies to not do this. Some of those who participated were offices in Seoul, South Korea and Chennai, India. Others didn’t fly the flag but showed support to the LGBTQ community in other ways.
