UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is urging all stakeholders in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to avoid violence over presidential election results. Thursday's announcement declared opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi the winner of the election. But the result is being contested by his rival. The UN chief said any eventual electoral disputes should be channeled through established institutional mechanisms in line with the country's constitution and electoral laws.
