The UN's top court says the UK should end its rule over the Chagos Islands in the Indian Ocean as soon as possible.

The International Court of Justice ruled that Britain split the islands from Mauritius illegally in 1965, after which it forcibly displaced the entire population to make way for the construction of a US military base.
