The Philippines has rejected a resolution by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate thousands of people in President Rodrigo Duterte's drug war.

Since 2016, thousands of drug dealers and users have been killed in a police crackdown.

But human rights groups have said the investigation into what has amounted to summary executions is long overdue.
