The Lugansk People's Republic militia and Ukrainian forces completed the withdrawal of military personnel and equipment from the contact line in the vicinity of Zolotoe town in Lugansk on Friday.
The operation had taken place within the schedule of the continuation of withdrawal of opposing forces from the contact line. An agreement was reached earlier at the contact group's meeting in Minsk.
According to the joint forces' operation press centre, the monitoring and control of troops' withdrawal was performed by OSCE Special Monitoring Mission with the help of drones. According to OSCE Mission report, the mission was completed successfully.
Commander of the territorial operative administration 'Sever', Oleg Mikats, stated that "there is no threat to the civilian population now, after the completion of military withdrawal."
One local resident hoped that people living in the areas bordering the demarcation line could get back to normality. "Let us live here in peace," they added.
It is also reported, that troops' withdrawal near village Petrovskoe in Donetsk region, which is expected to commence on November 4, will become the next phase in the process of establishing peace peace.
Dismantlement of fortifications and mine clearing are expected to be completed by the end of November.
