Protesters marched through east London on Saturday in solidarity with demonstrators opposed to India's new Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Demonstrators, many from London's Indian Muslim community, held signs with slogans such as "Stop dividing India," "United against racism in India" and "When are you going to wake up?."

Similar protests have swept India after the Indian Parliament passed a bill on December 11, entitling religious minority migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan to Indian citizenship if they entered the country before 2015.

The amendment has come under criticism for discriminating against undocumented Muslim migrants.
