Dozens of protesters dressed in black, carried yellow umbrellas and sang in solidarity with Hong Kong rally-goers in London, on Sunday.
Titled ‘Sing for Hong Kong’, the event was organised by ‘Support Hong Kong from London’ in a show of solidarity for Hong Kong anti-extradition bill protesters.
Attendees first gathered and sang at Piccadilly Circus and later took their tunes to South Kensington.
The Hong Kong government has suspended the legislative process of the extradition bill and Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam publicly apologised for the extradition controversy.
Those opposing the bill are nevertheless asking for its complete withdrawal, as well as the unconditional release of all arrested protesters, the formation of an independent commission of inquiry into police behaviour, and universal suffrage.
