Thousands of protesters marched through the streets of London on Wednesday in the immediate aftermath of Boris Johnson succeeding Theresa May as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Many of the protesters chanted obscenities and carried placards with insulting words for the freshly appointed PM.

In his opening speech earlier in the day, Johnson vowed to take the UK out of the EU by October 31st and threatened to withhold the divorce bill of ₤39 billion (€43.7bn).

Johnson served two terms as Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016, and as Foreign Secretary between 2016 and 2018, during which time he heavily campaigned in favour of Brexit.
