Another expedition into the deep sea is being attempted in the Indian Ocean in waters near the Seychelles. A UK-led science mission made its first dive into some of the world's least known waters. Scientists boarded two submarines to brace unpredictable sub-sea conditions, and the vessels are expected to reach depths of around 60 meters in an hour. The scientists want to collect samples around Alphonse Island, which will help them understand the impact of climate change on a vast stretch of unexplored ocean. The deep sea refers to waters 200 meters below the surface.
