Labour Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell said his party is "not interested in deals or coalitions" and will look to form a minority government after the UK General Election resulted in a hung parliament. He made the comments to the press outside the Houses of Parliament in London on Friday.
In a hung Parliament, the Conservative government will remain in office until it is decided who will form a new government as a majority. Although, there is no official time limit, the decision is expected to take shape by June 13, when the new parliament meets for the first time. If this cannot be decided, Prime Minister Theresa May will be expected to resign.
