Scores of Tommy Robinson supporters and antifascist counter-demonstrators faced off in London on Saturday, with several detained by police in the process.

Minor scuffles broke out as law enforcement attempted to contain the situation which saw dozens of flares and smoke bombs let off in a matter of minutes.

One woman at the pro-Robinson protest gave a Nazi salute while holding a banner demanding his freedom.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is a former English Defence League (EDL) leader and was jailed for nine months for contempt of court.
