Downing Street was quiet in London on Friday, after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson that he would be going into self-isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Johnson is set remain in his flat above Number 11 for seven days, but announced via Twitter that he would continue to lead the government response to the pandemic, and all other government business from isolation.

Although 10 Downing Street is the official residence of the Prime Minister, both Johnson and his predecessor Theresa May, have chosen to live in the flat above Number 11, the official residence of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, as it is considerably larger.

According to the latest government figures there have been 14,543 positive coronavirus tests in the UK, with the death toll standing at 759.
