Turkish authorities are now treating the disappearance of Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi at his country's consulate in Istanbul as a murder case.

Prosecutors are widening their investigation into his disappearance, after a group of Saudi officials flew into Istanbul and visited the consulate last Tuesday, the day Khashoggi went missing.

The Saudi Press Agency agency released a statement from an unnamed official at the consulate denying reports Khashoggi was killed there, calling the allegations baseless.

Al Jazeera's Jamal Elshayyal joins us live from Istanbul to update us with the latest details.
