Firefighters are battling to contain a forest fire near Fethiye in Turkey's south western Mugla province on Thursday.

Helicopters flew in sorties to drop water on the flames below, while fire engines were deployed in the effort at ground level.

The fire has burned through approximately 350 hectares of forest since starting on Wednesday, according to the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
