Tshisekedi clinches DRC presidential victory

Democratic Republic of Congo Opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi has been declared the winner of the December 30 presidential election.

The announcement by the electoral commission comes after close to a week’s delay with concerns mounting over vote manipulation.

Opposition candidate Martin Fayulu dismissed the results terming it an election coup, instead calling on election observers from Congo's Catholic Church to reveal the name of the winner their vote counting produced.
