US President Donald Trump has unveiled his $4.89 trillion budget for 2021 to Congress which Democrats say is designed appeal to his support base in an election year.

So military spending is up but foreign aid contributions are down, as are cuts to social welfare programmes.

But not all of his budget will be approved by Congress, which Democrats say favours the rich.
