The country Turkey has criticized Donald Trump's plan to send arms to Kurdish rebels fighting ISIS in Syria, calling for an end to the US strategy. On Tuesday this week, Trump authorized a decision to arm the Kurdish People's Protection Units, green-lighting a US policy that had been on the sidelines for years to reportedly avoid confrontation with Turkey. For years, Turkey has viewed the YPG as a terrorist organization which threatens its sovereignty. In a statement, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that the decision was unacceptable and asked the US to reverse its decision, adding, "The consequences will bring negative outcomes, not only for Turkey but also for America."
