Houston is currently facing catastrophic flooding as tropical storm Harvey unleashes itself over the Houston/Galveston metropolitan area. Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane on the central Texas coastline Friday night and is expected to drop an additional 15 to 25 inches of rainfall over the next few days. After 1-2 feet of rain fell this weekend, the storm could lead to some of the highest rainfall totals ever recorded in the United States. Meteorologists Jeff Masters and Bob Henson said Saturday, “There is virtually no precedent for such a slow-moving system maintaining at least tropical storm strength along the Texas coast for five days.
