Reuters reports Notre-Dame Cathedral went up in flames on Monday in a roaring blaze.
The fire devastated the Parisian landmark and is a searing loss for the city as well as for France.
Around 6:50 p local time, firefighters say the fire started in the roof of Notre-Dame cathedral.
Just a few minutes later, a journalist sees smoke and flames at Notre-Dame from a distance.
By 7:40 pm, the fire spread to the giant spire of Notre-Dame cathedral and collapse within minutes.
At 8:07 pm, the entire roof collapses and Paris’ Ile de la Cité is evacuated by police.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
