TIME Announces Person Of The Year Shortlist

TIME Magazine announced its shortlist for 2018 Person of the Year Monday morning.

In recent years, groups of people have been nominated, as well.

The Person of the Year will be announced live on the **Today** show on Tuesday.

The shortlist again includes US President Donald Trump as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was reelected in March.

The families separated at the US-Mexico border have made the list, in addition to the March for Our Lives activists.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is overseeing the Russia investigation, is on the list.

Other nominations went to **Black Panther** director Ryan Coogler, Brett Kavanaugh-accuser Christine Blasey Ford, and murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The shortlist is rounded out by the new British Duchess Meghan Markle and South Korean president Moon Jae-in.
