Wife of detained former co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Saleh Muslim criticised the Czech Republic’s apprehension of her husband and urged Prague not to extradite the former leader of the Syrian Kurdish political party to Turkey, in an interview in Afrin on Monday.
"Why will he be handed over to Turkey? What are the foundations that allow the extradition of a Syrian Kurd to the Turkish government?" Aisha Effendi said.
Other members of PYD expressed similar views, with a member of the Women's Union, Gulbahar Isa saying, "Since he was arrested in the Czech Republic, he should be interrogated there, not sent to Turkey."
Early on Sunday, the former co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) Saleh Muslim was arrested in Prague after Turkey issued a warrant for his arrest.
