Syrian state agency SANA, reported that at least 11 people were killed after mortar shells allegedly fired by militants struck Aleppo’s al-Khaldeih neighbourhood on Sunday.
Witnesses of the attack recalled the horrors of the shelling on camera.
"We suddenly heard a sound of an explosion and saw fire in the house, shards of glass scattered over us inside, we had a look from the window and we saw fire, so we ran to hide at the lower storey," remembered one man.
"They are targeting the civilians, there are no soldiers here nor anything else, they only target civilians." he added.
The same man accused militants of being behind the attack. "We all support the government. We want the insurgents to be kicked out of here. May God make them unsuccessful," he continued.
No group has officially claimed responsibility for the shelling as of yet.
