Authorities in Beijing say that 20 students injured in an attack on a school have been given medical treatment and are in a stable condition. The hospital is also providing counseling services. Up to now, all primary and middle schools, as well as kindergartens in the district, have strengthened their safety protection measures. On Tuesday morning, a 49-year-old repairman from northeast China's Heilongjiang province attacked students with a hammer as they were taking a physical education class. Authorities say the suspect wanted to take revenge on the school because his employment contract was due to end this month, without an offer of renewal. The suspect has been arrested. Twenty students were wounded, four of them seriously.
