The funeral of 14-year-old Khaled al-Rabai was held in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, after he was reportedly killed by Israeli military fire during protests along the Gaza-Israel border on Friday.
Palestinian health officials in Gaza announced that al-Rabai and 17-year old Ali al-Ashqar were killed by Israeli bullets during a Great March of Return demonstration on Friday, with at least 66 protesters reportedly being injured.
"This is an unjust army that confronts children with weapons, airplanes and all kinds of weapons," al-Rabai's father, Iyad, said. "This is a blameless child who expresses the opinion of the March of Return in order to liberate a land from the Israeli occupation."
The Great March of Return, launched in late March 2018, forms a series of protests along the Israeli-Palestinian border to demand the right for Palestinians to return to their families' pre-1948 homes.
