A Palestinian man who allegedly attempted to stab Israeli settlers with a knife was shot dead near the West Bank city of Nablus, on Wednesday, according to the Israeli military. Israeli forces secured the location of the attack in its aftermath as police investigators sifted through evidence at the scene.
According to reports, a Palestinian man with a knife attempted to open the door to a car carrying a West Bank settler and his daughter. The driver then shot and injured the attacker, who later died in hospital.
A second Palestinian man received light injuries during the incident, according to reports citing the Palestinian Health Ministry. Local media, citing witnesses, contested the Israeli military's account of the incident, saying no attempted stabbing attack had taken place.
