Hundreds of Palestinians marched in Gaza City on Saturday, as the newly-founded Palestinian Democratic Rally held its first ever gathering, with the aim of ending the Palestinian division between Gaza and the West Bank.

The protesters exhibited numerous flags and placards, chanting against the Israeli state, and demanding the unification of the Palestinian people around the national cause.

"There is an integrated program that will implement steps on the ground in order to deal with the repercussions of this division and re-correct the compass of the Palestinian national fight, we would like to focus our fight on the occupation instead of being in a conflict between Palestinians," said Talal Abu Zarifa, leader of the Democratic Front.
