FC Barcelona players arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training facility in Sant Joan Despi, Barcelona, on Wednesday, to undergo COVID-19 tests and medicals ahead of their return to training, as La Liga clubs plan to return to action in June.
Players, including Leo Messi, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez, were seen driving into the premises in their vehicles.
As Spain slowly lifts coronavirus restrictions and eases the lockdown in four different phases, the players turned up for tests to ensure they are not infected and are in good health before resuming their training.
The sports facility was reportedly subjected to a general cleaning and disinfection operation that is set to be carried out at least twice a day to protect the players.
Further protective methods have been made available, such as gloves, masks and hand sanitisers.
As of Wednesday, Spain has 219,329 coronavirus cases and 25,613 related fatalities as data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows.
