Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri said that 5G had finally arrived, after announcing it for past three years, in a speech to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday.
"In 2017, I stood here and said 5G was coming fast," Suri told attendees.
"In 2018, I stood here again and said 5G was coming really, really fast."
"And now, here we are again, and I'm pleased to tell you that 5G is no longer coming fast. It is no longer coming at all, because it is here."
A study by Nokia and Analysys Mason suggests that the transition to 5G would be rapid, reaching a coverage of 57% over all networks in four to five years.
