Somali troops based at the United Arab Emirates military camp in Mogadishu, graduated from a special army course offered by instructors from the the Gulf state. The UAE has been providing security assistance to Somalia to help the war-torn country fight threats posed by Islamist group, al-Shabaab since 2015. The Gulf state says its support for Somalia is also aimed at rebuilding the nation. The UAE also announced last month, that it would bear the treatment cost of 100 Somalis who were injured in twin bomb blasts that killed nearly 300 people in Mogadishu.
