Traders operating small businesses in Kenya start paying a three percent tax on their sales to the Kenya Revenue Authority from this month. This follows the re-introduction of the levy in the Finance Act 2019. Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta signed it into law last November 7, reintroducing the turnover tax for businesses whose annual sales are below 50,000 dollars to boost tax collections.
